The cross country run network in Au consists of a total of 31 km and in Schoppenau 31 km, whereby as they areconnected together as a ski touring center, this doubles the multiple cross country ski tracks to a total length of approx. 62 km.

The tracks lead you from the Primary and Middle School Au over the Kreuz alley to the Rehmer brook and from there over the Rehmer field to the Parzelle Lugen and then further in a northwesterly direction towards the Rehmen. From there the tracks bring you back to the Rehmer brook and around a bend to your original starting point. This run continues further from the Parzelle Lugen in a big loop to the village area known as Lebernau towards Rehmen.

This run loops from Au-Argenstein towards Leue and further to Unterargenstein in scenic and untouched landscape.

The starting points are at the Gräsalper bridge or at the eastern end of the Schoppernau village limits, by the highway. The tracks lead you over the Ach footbridge towards Armengemach and from there through a wooded area (two variations) along the Bregenzerach river, past the public swimming pool to the Gräsalper bridge and then towards Äuele. The run climbs lightly and leads to a big loop around the houses of Gräsalp and again back to the farming settlement of Armengemach.

The river run leads from Schoppernau-Niederau down towards the Bregenzerache river and then along the right side of the river bank till you reach the eastern end of Schoppernau village limits and from there it continues through the middle of the Schoppernau fields bring ou back again to your starting point. The various connections and runs in Au have a total of 3.3 km and 3.4 km in Schoppernau.

The skating route in Schoppernau starts at the local authority building in Schoppernau. This trail takes you across the Schoppernau Field to the eastern footbridge over the Ach river, and from there to the Armengemach hut. After a short uphill section the trail leads through duplicate terrain above and past the outdoor pool to the Gräsalp allotment and from there across the Gräsalp cross-country bridge back to the starting point.

The ideal starting point for the cross-country skating trail in Au is at the village camping site. In parts it runs parallel to the cross-country skiing trail linking the villages before looping back at the Grunholz lift to Wieden - Neudorf. After crossing the road a flat 2 km or so skating trail takes you back to the village.

The course of this run travels over the southern lying northern slope of Au and Schoppernau, from the village area known as Au-Argenzipfel which lies above Argenau (the run has two levels of difficulty: medium and difficult) and through the pastures of Weider Stöcke/Äuele towards Schoppernau and the banks of the Gräsalp, then through a forest to the romantic farming settlement of Armengemach.
From there the run travels over the Ach footbridge in a loop through Paradies and then along the open fields of Schoppenau till it arrives at the Gräsalper bridge and takes you back to the Äuele forest to Au-Neudorf, to the Parzelle Kreuz alley and over the Bregenzerach river dam (an underpass is at the Kirchenbrücke bridge) to the Viehweide Reute and then Argenzipfel, or over the Argenbach footbridge to the Kanisfluh run.
