The snow sports school in Au-Schoppernau ensures high levels of safety on the slopes, learning aids that are suitable for children and lessons with qualified skiing instructors who are responsive to children’s wishes and requirements.
Bambini and children’s beginners’ courses for children between 3 and 14 years
NEW: half-day bambini course especially for 3 to 4-year-old children with a new learning programme.
Qualified and experienced skiing instructors playfully guide little children through the basics with great care and patience while ensuring that little nippers have great fun. Fun is particularly important: after all, once learning becomes an enjoyable experience, progress and success are sure to follow. The courses are specially designed with the age and ability of each child in mind.
Taster ticket for tiny tots:
2 one-hour lessons €30
The Taster ticket (Schnupperkarte) enables children to try out skiing on a Sunday or Monday morning. If your child takes to the experience you can extend the course to last over entire days – in this case we’ll take the costs of the Taster ticket into account.
Course programme for children:

• you can play lots of other fantastic games
• every Thursday or Friday: Snowrafting - a skidoo pulls kids in a dinghy through our Didiland

The beginners’ courses for children start on Sundays and Mondays at 10 am.
Children and young people between the ages of 4 and 15 can improve their skiing skills by taking part in an interesting and methodically structured programme of exercises. Different learning materials and lots of skiing games turn each day into a fascinating experience for your child.
The children are divided up into ability groups at the assembly point:
* Ahorn lift/Grunholz lift in the valley
* blue piste on the Diedamskopf
* red piste on the Diedamskopf
* black piste on the Diedamskopf
Course programme for advanced children:
TECHNIQUE: instruction in modern carving techniques with various mobility exercises, pole training, off piste skiing, mogul, Big Foot and carvollinos (for older children)
“DIEDAMSKOPF IGLOO LAND” – safety camp on the mountain
In the igloos children are given folders which help them to learn the FIS code of behaviour on the winter slopes and are also informed about alpine hazards.
For practised groups: pursuit tour in the natural half-pipe, correct behaviour and jumping in the snowboarding park, backcountry skiing to Neuhornbach, ski safaris to the surrounding ski resorts.
Adventure programme
• adventure park at the Breitenalpe
• Thursdays: snowrafting with skidoos and barbecues at the Tipi
• abseiling at the abseiling centre
• A final ski race is held on Fridays followed by an awards ceremony in which children can receive a medal and a certificate.
Our adventure programme was awarded the prize for innovative tourism in 2006!
The advanced courses start Sundays and Mondays at 10 am. Children with experience can also join a course during the week.

Young children enjoy excellent lunchtime care in the “Baerenstube” room within the ski school building or in Hotel Post by the Grunholz in Au. Children on the Diedamskopf are welcome at the “Ski-Haserl” restaurant in the mountain terminal.
You can redeem your vouchers individually at the ticketing counter in the snow sports school.

Children’s breaded pork escalope with potato salad or raisin pancake with apple sauce
Wednesdays:
Chicken nuggets and chips or apple cake with custard
Thursdays:
Swiss spaetzle pasta with sauce or Austrian pancake with a marmalade filling
Fridays:
Fish fingers with potato salad or hot apple strudel topped off with custard
Saturdays:
Spaghetti bolognese with Parmesan cheese or rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar
Sundays:
Children’s Bernese sausage and chips or quark strudel with lashings of cheese
All children are issued with a child’s safety gilet for the duration of the course.
Qualified snow sports instructors teach children our unique programme entitled “Safety in Snow Sports”. In two igloos children are given folders which help them to learn the FIS code of behaviour for winter sports and are also informed about alpine hazards and dangers.
Our safety camp features:
• a search field for people buried in avalanches on the Diedamskopf
• a snow igloo workshop on the code of skiing conduct (the 10 FIS rules)
• a snow igloo workshop on alpine hazards and dangers
