Take-off and landing sites

Take-off sites
There are two. Take-off site 1 (2,060 m above sea level) is located above the cable car mountain terminal, next to the radio mast.
You can take off heading east, south or west.

Take-off site 2 (2,000 m above sea level) is situated some way below the mountain terminal in the direction of the Diedams plateau and faces south. The take-off area starts from about 10 degrees in the uptake zone and merges smoothly into a steep slope. Consequently there is no danger during the entire take-off phase from this slope and launches can also be aborted at any time. Please note that you are only permitted to take off from the designated sites (marked by windsocks). In winter you are not allowed to take off from the ski slopes.
2 take-off ramps are available for hang gliders.

Flight corridor
Please ensure you keep a minimum safety distance of 50 m when flying over cableways or overhead power lines. In general you should always try to keep to the designated air space and remain at an altitude of at least 300 m so as not to disturb the wildlife.

Landing site
Summer: The landing site (850 m above sea level) is located about 350 m below the valley terminal (some150 m away from the L200 road). The landing site should display red and white marker points and will in any case always be marked by a windsock.
Please note that you are not cleared to land on the adjacent properties.

Winter: As long as the fields are covered in snow you can land in front of Hotel Elisabeth. Please note that the access road to the landing site is closed off to vehicles.
