Rappenlochschlucht

Rappenloch is one of the largest and most awe-inspiring gorges in the Eastern Alps, which formed in the late ice age. 80m deep and cut narrow into the stone, it is flanked by vertical and overhanging rocks. A 41m high mammoth tree, a block of granite and a ravine with overhanging cliffs (“Kirchle“) are genuine wonders of nature.

During July and August, the Dornbirn tourist board offers free guided tours of the Rappenloch gorge on Thursdays.

Meet at 10:30 at Gütle near the mammoth tree.

Guided visits for groups only by prior appointment.
